They Mystery of God

God works in mysterious ways. This is a saying that we Christians hear a lot, am I right? So what in the world does this mean? Why does God have to work in mysterious ways, why can't he just work in our lives in ways that we are able to clearly see and recognize? While I don’t know all the answers, here is what I have concluded after thinking about this topic for a while.

God is not human, He is not something that we can really even but a name to. He is a divine being. Like many say and I will reiterate, we are never going to be able to fully understand his divineness or who He is, because our human brains cannot wrap our heads around the idea of who he is, we are just simply not capable. God is simply a mystery. Mysteries are something that are hard to grasp because the elements of a mystery are untransmutable. And with this very idea, is the reason that God works in mysterious ways. Since God is mysterious, and we do not fully understand his divine being, of course, the way that he plans out our lives is going to be mysterious.

However, this does not make it any easier for anybody. It is hard to see God's reasons and God's plans for people in their lives, and I honestly feel the same way. With me having to make a college decision soon, I am obviously very torn and nervous that I am going to chose the wrong school. The only thing that I can do is pray about it. I keep asking for God to send me a sign, but unfortunately, sometimes God does not make it very clear on decisions like this. I think part of the reason that God will not send a clear answer to us at times is that he wants us to learn discernment. Discernment is the perception in the absence of judgment with a view to obtaining spiritual guidance and understanding. I have been trying to use discernment and been trying to consider what is best for me and for the person that I want to be in the future. However, I do think it is still very important to pray throughout the journey to help your mind to see clearly, help the Lord to bring light to the important things in life, and in this way, He is helping you to make the decision. As believers, we are supposed to have

blind faith. We cannot physically see or hear what we believe in. But the Lord reassures us in scripture that we must trust. So, if you are struggling because you feel like God is ignoring you/not very present in your life, I hope this is a nice reminder and some reassurance that He IS present and listening, just maybe not in the ways that you expect.
